Marshalling a Fun Run

On 20th May, Another Sam and Me helped my friend, Gavin by marshalling a 10km Run around Hereford and the sorrounding countryside.
So come the day, we arrived at the Rowing Club in order to learn what we were meant to be doing, before being issued with a bright yellow plastic poncho and distributed out to a random corner out in the countryside and told to direct any Runners down the road to our left, and warn any approaching vehicles of the race.
Far too easily the task was achieved. In the space of 45mins, including a 5-10min wait for the runners to get to us, the whole 60+ people running the race when flying past without any gaps between them and off in the right direction.
Tip for the future - give it another go!

Wargames Post - Dystopian Wars

I've done it again - and started yet another wargame - Dystopian Wars by Spartan Games. It involves a alternate reality/sci-fi Victorian age World War with factions including; Kingdom of Brittania, Pussian Empire, Federated States of America, Empire of the Blazing Sun (Japanese) and Covenant of Antarctica.
There are groups for Aerial forces, Land forces and Naval Forces, each with a variety of units that can mix with alternate forces, like Sea and Air, or Land and Air. Aircraft carriers exist on land and sea, and are very characterful miniatures. Other factions have mad models, the Prussians have robots for land combat, that can also wade into the sea, and are represented by a very nice model that comes in packs of 2. Whilst the Japanese have a giant mechanical squid!
I've selected the Kingdom of Brittania, and got the Naval starter set; 9 Frigates, 3 Cruisers and a Battleship, complete with two bomber models and tiny flyers tokens.

Warhammer 40k Post - Tyranid Reinforcements

My long-standing, and equally long suffering Tyranid force; never before mentioned on this blog recently (as of 11 May) suffered what can only be described as a complete disaster of a tabletop battle - losing 9 killpoints to 0.
So with that in mind, I have decided to make some alterations to the force in time for a rematch on the 1st June. This consisted of adding a Swarmlord, making my old Hive Tyrant winged, and adding a few Zoanthropes and my unfinished batch of Gargoyles.
Luckily my paint scheme is quite quick so I have no need to rush this in order for them to be ready.

Napoleonic Wargaming Post - 28mm British Updates

Managed to complete 2 Line Infantryman, 1 Rifleman (with another one undercoated and ready for painting), and the cannon shown is already midway through painting (although the pictures show it before this).
The first completed member of the 36th Regiment of Foot, I managed to paint a beard onto this one
